More informations about the tutor: HIGHEST QUALIFICATION Bachelor of Chemical Engineering - Bioprocess (Hons.), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) WORKING EXPERIENCES Dec 2004 - Mar 2009 I worked as an engineer in an international service company in Oil and Gas Industry. My main tasks were to (i) enhance oil production from the field, (ii) system improvement in the project for better management and (iii) new technology application in the field. In general, in order for me to complete a task from assess to close out, I found out that it was crucial to master three (3) main elements: (i) engineering knowledge and experiences (ii) organizational knowledge and management skill and (iii) communication skill. Working with this company was the best working experience that I had so far. I had the opportunity to work with multi-nationalities, worked in other countries, attending trainings in other countries, develop engineering knowledge and skill and improve people skill. Mar 2003 - Nov 2004 I worked as an engineer in a paint manufacturing company. The main tasks were process improvement and environmental management. Nov 2002 – Feb 2003 Research assistant in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. REASON OF LEAVING THE RECENT JOB You may ask: “If I had a good job, why do I leave the company?” I left the company (actually, still working until March 2009) for two main reasons: (i) Focus more on my family. (ii) My interest in teaching. Therefore, I will do my best to guide your child to his/her success that suits his/her learning style to keep consistent motivation. As a parent myself, I truly understand how important is your child’s success to you. TEACHING EXPERIENCES 2004 Previously, I have worked part time as tuition teacher – math and science. I taught 6 students. Alhamdulillah, with efforts from students and their parents, 5 out of 6 students obtained ‘A’ in subjects that I taught and another one has improved from C to B. 2001 Temporary teacher in a primary school (during my university semester break). TEACHING METHOD (i) Mind Mapping and Flow Charts – I like to use mind maps/flow charts/drawings during teaching. I will also teach/guide the student to develop his/her own mind maps/flow charts/drawings and compile them in a file, so that he/she will be motivated to revise any subject, anywhere at their own time. (ii) Exercises – The students will do exercises to enhance their understanding in each subject. I will guide them initially, and will let them continue ‘off’ tuition hours. Therefore, tuition hours can be efficiently utilized for discussion and gain thorough understanding in each topic. (iii) Discussion – During each class, some time will be spent to discuss on exercises that have been completed ‘off’ tuition hours. This may trigger unclear/insufficient understanding in any subject/topic. (iv) Graph of performance – I will advise each student to set a target on the score that they want to achieve and plot their performance in a bar/line chart from (i) exercises given and (ii) scores from monthly tests/quizzes at school. By doing this, he/she should be able to plan what he/she should do to improve/maintain their performance. This is a good math application as well . (v) I will ask the student and observe his/her interest in learning method, to ensure consistent motivation. Inputs from parents are always welcomed, since you know your child better than me.
